The product and heating medium flow counter-currently through their respective channels. The defined plate spacing and specially designed plate geometry generate strong turbulence, enabling efficient heat transfer.
As the product reaches its boiling point, the generated vapor carries the remaining liquid upward along the plate surfaces as a rising film. The vapor-liquid mixture then enters the vapor passage of the plate pack and flows to a downstream centrifugal separator, where the vapor and concentrated liquid are separated.
The wide inlet passage and upward-flow arrangement ensure even fluid distribution and stable flow across the entire cross-section of the plate evaporator.
